What’s better than an action movie? Sunshine Coast’s free Emergency Expo!
This year it’s back – bigger and more exciting than ever – on Sunday 21 May from 10am to 2pm, along the Lake Kawana Foreshore.
The perfect place for a picnic, with plenty of food and drink options, you and your family can watch exhilarating emergency service demonstrations and meet your heroes.
Want to watch a helicopter water bombing? Or the swift water team race into action during a mock drowning?
Ever wondered how the police dive squad retrieve evidence?! How about witness a vertical rescue from the top of a building?
You can also experience what it’s like to be a firefighter responding to a mock emergency blaze and crash scene rescue.
And if you’ve ever thought about a career in emergency services, or volunteering, the Expo is a great chance to gain valuable insights and find the group that’s right for you.
Along with Sunshine Coast Council, the event is held in partnership with Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES), Queensland Police Service (QPS Sunshine Coast), Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS), Unity Water, Energex, State Emergency Service (SES), Surf Life Saving Queensland, Australian Volunteer Coastguard, Marine Safety Queensland, Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), Red Cross Australia and Volunteering Sunshine Coast.
