Panellists

Anna Kerwick is the National Marketing Lead at the Institute of Managers and Leaders ANZ. Anna is a multi-skilled Marketing professional with over 25 years experience in all areas of General Marketing, Digital, Strategy, Public Relations, Communications and Sales. With a career that has involved work with Not-for-Profit, FMCG and Retail businesses, as well as owning and running several businesses personally, Anna brings a wealth of general business and acute marketing and sales experience to any campaign. She has also managed marketing teams and projects at Business Chamber Qld (previously CCIQ), AIM Qld & NT, Frankie4 Footwear, Merlo Coffee and Brisbane Economic Development Agency (BEDA), amongst others.

Mr Luke Hawley is a mutli-skilled marketing professional with over 15 years of experience. Luke has worked on multinational brands such as Olay, Vicks, Metamucil, Duracell, Gillette and Clearblue. Luke has negotiated and executed multi-channel national campaigns for Olay with Australia largest retailers including Coles, Woolworths, Priceline, Kmart and Target. Luke is currently a lecturer and tutor of marketing and entrepreneurship at the University of the Sunshine Coast. Luke is also the host of LinkedIn Local Sunshine Coast and Bx Networking Sunshine Coast. Luke manages two professional community groups; B2B Sunshine Coast and Buy Local Sunshine Coast. Luke’s primary business is Marketing Broker Australia. Where Luke connects business owners to trusted, proven and experienced marketing professionals. Luke’s mission is to help small business owners make informed choices about the marketing of their business. He is you’re go-to for an honest, independent, and in-depth discussion about your business marketing needs.

Dr Karen Sutherland is a multi award-winning social media educator and author. A Senior Lecturer in Public Relations at the University of the Sunshine Coast, and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, Dr Sutherland is the Co-Founder and Social Media Specialist at Dharana Digital and has shared her research and delivered social media workshops around Australia and the world.

Dr Jacqueline Burgess is a multi-award-winning educator and researcher who is a lecturer in International Business and the program coordinator of the Bachelor of Business at the University of the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia. Her research focuses on marketing within the creative industries. Jacqueline has collaborated with various practitioners and businesses through her research and her work has been published in multiple academic journals, conferences and covered by local and international news outlets. She regularly teaches undergraduate and postgraduate brand management, marketing and international marketing courses.
