About the event
The Creative Pulse: Music & Culture is a gathering dedicated to live music, rhythm, movement, and creative expression. Set in a lush, earthy environment the Fairhill Botanic Gardens, this event brings together dance-driven live music, diverse cultural influences, and creative acts to a space where people can move, connect, and feel alive.
Each edition of The Creative Pulse features high-energy, groove-led music alongside other creative offerings — inviting people of all cultures and backgrounds to come together through shared rhythm. This is not just a performance, but a living, breathing cultural experience where music, culture and community meet.
This edition features La Felipe is an electrifying Australian ensemble that blends Afro-Latin traditions with contemporary innovation. Featuring musicians from Brazil, India, Argentina, and Australia, the band brings a rich fusion of rhythms, melodies, and cultures to the stage.
Led by Phillipe Alves (Brazil) on accordion, guitar, and vocals, La Felipe weaves Afro and Latin grooves with subtle electronic textures and poetic lyricism. Lalita Yagnik (India) adds vibrant percussion and vocals, infusing Brazilian styles such as Coco, Afoxé, Maracatu, and Forró. Teo Catarinolo (Argentina) brings the energy of funk and rock to the guitar and charango, while Mica Schettini (Argentina) lifts the sound with soulful saxophone and vocals inspired by reggae, cumbia, and pop. Isaac Crowley (Australia) anchors the ensemble with dynamic percussion, shaped by his multi-instrumental talents and experience across Latin, reggae, and world music.
Together, La Felipe creates music that is layered, organic, and irresistibly alive. Their performances are a celebration of rhythm, harmony, and cultural connection — captivating audiences and turning every stage into a journey through global sound.
We will also have a set by ChoroBela, a Sunshine Coast–based ensemble performing Brazilian choro, samba, and original folk music, blending rich musical traditions with a fresh, contemporary spirit. Featuring Francisco Raffa, Ravind Sangha, and Lalita Yagnik, the group weaves virtuosic musicianship, rhythmic depth, and lyrical expression into a warm, uplifting sound that celebrates both Brazilian roots and global influences. Their performances invite audiences into a vibrant musical journey that is intimate, joyful, and deeply connected.
Come to dance, listen, connect, and be part of an evolving creative pulse.
