Country Music Veteran Col Finley
Australian country music veteran Col Finley is reaching a remarkable milestone as he is set to be inducted into the prestigious Country Music Hands of Fame. This honour highlights Finley’s significant contributions to the genre, celebrating his talent, dedication, and lasting impact on the country music industry. Col Finley, renowned for his distinctive voice, heartfelt lyrics, and compelling performances, has been a pillar of inspiration in country music for decades. His journey, fuelled by perseverance and passion, has motivated countless fans and fellow musicians. Finley’s induction into the Country Music Hands of Fame stands as a testament to his relentless pursuit of excellence and his unwavering commitment to the art of country music. Finley’s dream took flight in 1992 when he first attended the Tamworth Country Music Festival as a busker and talent search entrant. On a typical hot summer day, he experienced a transformative moment at a Hand of Fame Ceremony, where he was captivated by the handprint of country music legend Slim Dusty, an inaugural inductee in 1977. Placing his hand into Dusty Mould, which was a perfect fit, inspired Col to declare his own destiny of being inducted into the Hands of Fame.
It’s Not The End, But The Beginning of A New Journey
Col Finley reflects on 33 years as a part of the Tamworth CMF with pride, honour, and respect. With a heavy heart, he announced that he would be taking a break from the festival to focus on his new project, his Family Show, and his new business, Music 2 Media. “I wanted to leave and say goodbye with no regrets or bitterness, which sadly has happened to a lot of my friends over the years.
