La Bayadère Act 3 & Contemporary Gatherings

This year’s annual performance from The Dance Centre Peregian Springs presents a spellbinding evening of Classical and Contemporary dance. The first half features La Bayadère: Kingdom of the Shades — a masterpiece of 19th-century ballet known for its hypnotic precision and ethereal beauty. In this iconic scene, a procession of ghostly temple dancers unfolds in breathtaking unison, embodying both technical mastery and poetic grace. We are honoured to welcome guest artist Alfie Shacklock of Queensland Ballet, whose performance brings a professional brilliance to this timeless work.

The second half of the programme shifts into a dynamic exploration of Contemporary dance. A curated collection of short pieces journeys through the evolution of the form — from the expressive freedom of mid-20th century pioneers to the cutting-edge choreography of today — showcasing the versatility, creativity, and depth of the school’s emerging artists.
