The malt masters from Islay, Bruichladdich Distillery, continue to embark on a whisky tour de force with annual editions of the uber-experimental cult Octomore range - the world's most heavily peated whisky. Titanic amounts of peat but with a light, delicate complexity and a beguiling finesse, the Octomore is young, yet eminently mature. Always distilled using 100% Scottish barley and matured entirely on Islay for a minimum of 5 years in American oak casks. With only a few bottles available worldwide in each release, this is one whisky experience not to miss out on.
