About the event

Internationally acclaimed conductor Daniel Kossov will lead us in our opening concert for 2026 featuring Tchaikovsky’s 5th Symphony.

Said to be his depiction of ‘fate’ it captures the long march to battle (with skittish cavalry), dreams of love and memories of peaceful times, and finally the great battle itself. The finale evokes a victory parade with it’s jarring mix of loss and pride, bombast and fatalism. Music speaks when words fail.

We’ll also perform the beloved “Variations on a Rococo theme” with our talented cellist Julia Janiszewski as the soloist.
