The Sunshine Coast Wootha Prize 2026 - Sustainable by nature, beautiful by design.
The Wootha Prize is a nationally recognised woodworking award that celebrates beautifully crafted timber sculpture and furniture from sustainably sourced native timbers and weed timbers.

The Sunshine Coast Wootha Prize for 2026 is a reimagined version of the Wootha Prize which has been the feature exhibition at the Maleny Wood Expo since 2004. It will continue to be hosted by Barung Landcare in a stunning new venue - Montvale at Montville.

The exhibiton of entries for 2026 will be open across the weekend of the Montville Timber Trail 2nd to 4th May.

At the Exhibition
Wootha Prize finalist pieces in sculpture, furniture and tiny treasures. All unique and handmade pieces will also be for sale.

Barung Nursery sales tent with native plants available across the weekend
"On the Deck" speakers program from 11am Saturday and Sunday. A series of informal talks about rainforest, habitat and working sustainably with timber.
Children's Bird Call Face-Off challenge - Sunday from 11am
Raffle tickets available for purchase across the weekend with some exciting prizes.

Key Information
When: Saturday 2nd May 10am to 5pm, Sunday 3rd May 10am to 5pm and Monday 4th May 10am to 2pm

Where: Montvale at Montville, 92 Main Street Montville.

Entry: $8 Adults, $5 Concession, Kids under 16 free.

Tickets can be used for a single entry across the weekend - so purchase your ticket and come along any day, any time!

Venue: Parking is available onsite (volunteers will guide you on the day), or walk from Montville town. Montvale is also a disability friendly venue with disability parking on site. No dogs please (assistance dogs accepted).
