Hannah Macklin returns to the touring circuit with a bold new body of work — a glimpse into what’s to come from her next studio release, following her 2023 LP, Mu.
As a special gift to her live audiences, Hannah will offer a free exclusive download of her “Scarab Beetle” mantra — a carefully researched vocal piece designed to activate the Third Eye Chakra. This track is one of seven mantras she plans to release in 2025 under her spiritual and teaching practice, Shen Place.
For this tour, Hannah picks up the bass herself and is joined by Magandjin powerhouses Brandon Mamata (guitar) and Sam Mitchell (drums). Together, they create a dynamic trio that fuses jazz, prog, hip-hop, R&B, and global influences to present a sonically rich and spiritually charged set. Themes of Dreaming, regeneration, divinity, love, and the cosmos pulse through this new material.
Never one to shy away from spiritual and cross-cultural narratives, Hannah’s new songs include “Hudna” (Arabic for “Ceasefire”), “Samādhi” (Sanskrit for “a state of meditative consciousness”), and “Yuya Karrabura” — a teaching from the late poet, activist, and Ndjebbana woman Alice Eather, meaning “fire is burning.”
Supporting Hannah is Matty Witney, returning to Australia after eight years immersed in Chicago’s vibrant music scene. Having collaborated widely and led his band Dried Spider, Matty now performs solo, weaving intricate, soulful songs inspired by soul, folk, and jazz, guided by a newfound commitment to inner peace.
Opening the night is the enchanting and melancholy songstress AYLA, setting the tone for a night of depth, feeling, and sonic exploration.
