Caloundra, QLD — Organisers of the Bulcock Street Music Festival have announced a short postponement of the event to 6th September 2025, following last-minute concerns raised by Sunshine Coast Council around power supply impacts on nearby infrastructure.
The council flagged potential issues with the festival’s original power setup and how it might affect surrounding buildings. In response, organisers acted quickly to explore alternative solutions — and found one that not only solves the issue but also significantly improves the event’s environmental impact.
The festival will now be powered by My Nu Energy, a Brisbane-based company providing clean, battery-powered energy systems. This shift ensures a more reliable and sustainable power source for the event — and one that could pave the way for greener solutions at future festivals across the region.
“The timing of this issue has been unfortunate, but the importance of it can’t be understated,” said Al Jones, Festival Director. “We simply couldn’t risk power instability on the day — for our performers, vendors, or the fans. This solution guarantees reliability, and better yet, it’s cleaner.”
Organisers acknowledged Sunshine Coast Council’s support throughout the process and say the council is enthusiastic about the festival’s switch to renewable power — seeing potential in this model for other public events.
“Council have been incredibly helpful, and they’re genuinely excited about what this could mean for future event planning,” Al Jones added.
Ticket holders can rest assured that their tickets remain valid for the new September date, with final details to be announced in the coming days. Refund options will also be made available.
The Bulcock Street Music Festival remains committed to delivering a loud, all-ages, high-energy experience — now with a cleaner footprint.
