Maleny Set to Make History with Two Brand-New Signature Events

This September, the Sunshine Coast Hinterland will witness history in the making as Maleny hosts its very first Maleny Music Muster—a brand-new celebration of Australian music, community, and country hospitality.

Held on 26 September 2026 at the Maleny Showground Pavilion, the inaugural event promises an unforgettable day of live entertainment, bringing together music lovers from across Queensland and beyond to celebrate the beginning of what organisers hope will become one of the region's premier annual festivals.

Adding even more excitement to this historic occasion will be the first-ever Big Cheese Roll—a fun, uniquely Maleny event inspired by the town's rich dairy heritage. Festival-goers will have the chance to cheer on competitors as they roll the famous giant cheese wheel, creating a spectacle sure to become a much-loved tradition for years to come.

The Maleny Music Muster has been created to showcase outstanding Australian country, folk, bluegrass, and roots music while celebrating the people, businesses, and community spirit that make Maleny one of Australia's most iconic hinterland destinations.

The official artist lineup will be announced soon, with an exciting mix of award-winning performers and emerging talent ready to take the stage.

As a boutique festival, tickets will be strictly limited to ensure an intimate and enjoyable experience for everyone attending.

Tickets officially go on sale from 7 July, and organisers encourage music lovers to secure their place early.
